My wife is currently in the pretending phase (hooks), but has been considering losing her hands permanently (dbe). I do not want her to hurt herself, but would support visiting a willing surgeon overseas. Ive been told that no surgeon will do both hands, does anyone know if this is true? Does anyone know a good surgeon?
This is not something that is being planned right away, but we are in the discussion phase. Any help or info would be greatly appreciated!

Hi, thanks for commenting.
It catches my attention since she is a woman and rarely does a woman tell and decide.
That's why I ask you: How old is she and what does she plan to do after the amputations? stumps, prosthetic hand?
I think a hand would be enough, she needs touch in life for example in the dark and the stumps don't receive as much touch.
Do one hand at a time. For example, find a surgeon amd get her right hand amputated and see how it feels for her. If she can manage everything without hands then gey the other hand done from somewhere else or infect it on purpose and visit the ER.
Get her right arm amputated and see how she feels. Whether she can manage things without arms or not. Of she is still willing to lose her other arm then do it at a different place than the previous one.
