hey guys I am RAKA, I don't have to pretend anymore. To undergo my amputation was the beat thing ever, although expensive and very painful process, everything was worth it on the end. If you want to talk about it send me email lucamputa@hotmail.com

Hello everyone.

My girlfriend is wannabe and we are looking for more information on the subject, we are still lost.

We are looking for real information, from wannabes and ex-wannabes, we want to talk about it with people who have done their amputations or with people who have yet to do them.

Thanks everyone.

Hi, For me it is just above the knee. I reckon this way that the stumps can be nicely formed, and that there is enough lenght to wear effective prosthetics. However I think lots of the time I would be using a wheelchair. Or when at and around the home do not use any gear, or maybe just stubbies.

What about you?

Do you pretend as well? And where are you based? Honestly I sometimes become a bit tired of just meeting online, and would like to meet somebody in real life to talk about our wannabe road...

I just moved to Ireland, still regularly in the Netherlands and other European countries.

Dak amputee wannabe here, long time pretender. My legs are in constant pain and when I pretend they go to sleep, stopping the pain. I just came out to my wife about wanting to be a bilateral amputee. I want mine 2-3 inches above the knee, just sticking with using stubbies or wheelchair. We are now on the search to find a surgeon willing to perform the amputation. Can anyone point me in the right direction for a private surgeon??

This is only a dream, but who knows it might happen. I envision becoming a quad amputee over the course of 10 or 20 years in the following order:

Year 1: loose all ten toes on my left foot

Year 2: loose all ten toes on my right foot

Year 3: loose my left foot through the ankle

year 4: loose my right foot through the ankle

year 5: loose my left leg through the knee

year 6: loose my right leg through the knee

Year 7: loose my left leg through the hip

year 8: loose my right leg at the hip

year 9: loose all ten fingers on my left hand

year 10: loose my left hand

year 11: loose my left arm through the elbow

year 12: loose my left arm at the shoulder, no stump

year 13: loose all ten fingers on right hand

year 14: loose right hand through wrist

year 15: loose right arm through elbow

year 16: loose right arm through the shoulder

year 17: loose my left eye

year 18: loose my left ear

year 19: loose my right ear

year 20: This would be my final state: No arms, no legs, no ears, and one eye.

This order is very important to me because I want to enjoy each step in the process. This will likely never happen like this, but who knows.

Do you really have 20 toes and 20 fingers? I've only 10 of each.

As much as possible: just long enough to sit upright, but unable to wear prostheses.

Typo. I only have 5 fingers on each hand and 5 toes on each foot.

Hi.  I am already a full time wheelchair user as I am disabled through a neurological condition. After 14 years in my wheelchair, I really now want to have a single leg amputation.
