Pretending as a treatment for Biid.

Hello all,

SInce as long as I can remember I have been wanting to get rid of my legs above the knee. Of course I did study about it whatever I could find to read about. Studies, papers, letters etc, talked to some doctors and scientists. But came to the conclusion, probably like many of you. That the current medical world is not going to deal with letting amputation as a treatment for Biid happen.

Also I have been looking at: do it yourself amputation: tourniquet, saw, quillotine, dry ice, train, car etcetera. For me the risk of this is just a bit to much yet.

So this is why nowadays I totally concentrate on pretending as a treatment for my Biid. I did purchase a very nice "cyclone" wheelchair. Worked really on my physical condition to be very thin, to make my bended legs look quite small when folded and made into "stumps". Also I have been training, when going to bed to keep my legs as long as possible bound. And I discussed my secret to my girlfriend. She finds it quite weird and hard to deal with, however she does support me. And as long I do not pretend in public with her she is fine. I am hoping that she gets more used to my situation while I am pretending at home. So it will also become easier for her when I am pretending in public.

á

And it must be said that pretending does relieve quite a big part of my Biid feelings.

I do pretend in public while I am alone, often further away from the town where I live. However the pretending in public is quite a thing. Because: how to deal with people whoá know you with legs, when you meet them while pretending in a wheelchair without legs? And of course also: how to deal with people who have only known you without legs, but when they meet you with legs. This gives a dillema which is hard to overcome. The solution is probably to go fulltime pretender? Any ideas?

Dear,

I know what your feelings are. I've got the same. But, with my doctor, I've got hypnotic therapy. To reduce my BIId. The results are not yet good, but i'll go on with it!

Hello,

Hypnotic therapy sounds interesting. How does it work? Or how is it supposed to work?

Goodby,

Hi. Thank you for starting this subject. I wanted my left leg gone for as long as i can remember. Since a few years i try to pretend as much as possible i find it a relieving feeling. But it doesn't really help to get rid of the main feeling of my leg which should not be there. Im afraid i do not dare to cut is off myself but im still hoping to find some other kind of cure...

You started this topic and im really interested if you found a way to "heal" yourself.

Dear Lian,

Well apparently my biid feelings still go up and down, but I seemed to have found a way to (partly) control it. If you are interested you can mail me at langeman@tutanota.com .

Yours,

John
