Hi,

Since a couple days, I've learned what it is to pretend where other people are. The first time I did it, a friend, who knows me real good, was with me. The first time is very scary. You won't know what people think or going to say. Then it happened. Some people..... Lucky for me, I was in a wheelchair. So, the people couldn't see my foot.. (I was sitting on it) The reaction of a mom with kids, was very normal. Like I was really an amputee. We had a little chat. Probably, that talk was for me a sign to do it more.

Now, a week later, I pretend a lot more.. biggrin It is very cool! No bad reactions. People seems to look normal against me. Great! The next step is for me is to go to something like a grocery store, or something like that.

Keeping up with updates....

Moeltje.

And here is an update!

Some days ago, I went to a big city near here where I live.. My goal: Going to a bigger place with more people. So I've chosen a center of a town. Little scarry it was... But I did it!

What a fun. People acted normal to me. If I really had one leg. No strange faces. Went to a special shop. It was inside very narrow. Later on my way to my car I spotted a real amputee. Even he did not ask about me.. Great feeling! I think I can do it!

My greatest fear is to be recognised by someone. So I chose places where I don't know anybody...

I'm gonna make a next step. And will report it here!

This weekend I told a good friend of my BIID. She found it a bit strange. Her response was that she wanted to see it, preferably the same day. Unfortunately that did not work. So yesterday she was here. I showed her how I do it. Pretending. Doing as or. She looked out of her eyes. Only the foot that was visible, it was fake. Furthermore, when I sat down she was dead quiet. hahaha .... I asked what was going on. Her response was that it was very scary to see it first. It was real. I spent about 2 hours so walked around. Showed her things. Her response was at the end that I have to make hard to lose my leg, indeed, to the point where I showed it to her. That was better for me she said. :) Well, if she's there again, may or rather, I should do it again! So this was a success !!!

 And then a little update.

Last Sunday I went to a park, where a Christmas market. Yes, with the wheelchair. And as I wanted to, I could fiery fun. It was quite an experience. I am even then went to a station .... I had someone with me and made a few photos. Top! There were many people on the leg. So exciting. People find it quite normal as you drive around that. Even children .... I had expected otherwise. I want to think I do more often. :D :D

It's easy to buy a secondhand chair. I've got 2 of my own now. In a while, we'll go with the two both. A friend uses my other, because she can't walk that far. The second I'll use... It's   a lot of fun.

Wintertime!

Update!

It's cold outside. But I've a bag for my wheelchair. So I can use it.... And it is great! I can pretend in my own town. Last Valentine's day I went with a friend to a town. On our way back, I was pretending. It was on a train ride. Very nice. Many people could see it. No strange questions. :D And this weekend, I did it very close to my home. But with the bag.... :D The only thing was, that I found out that you're stability is less in a train. But it was my first time. Maybe it has to get normal........

This day, I went to Germany with someone I know. For over 3 hours I did pretend! Today I used a handbike. Kids reacted like Cool and Mum, That's nice!

It was nice to do it and next Tuesday I go somewhere again!
